The Minnesota State Patrol has identified the two people who died in a head-on collision near Manchester at 1:20 a.m. Monday.

Sheila Renae Johnson, 45, of Albert Lea, driver of a 1999 Oldsmobile Bravado, reportedly died at the accident scene. George Robert Nielson, age 34, of Mason City, Iowa, was the driver of a 1989 pickup. He also died at the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the State Patrol said.

The accident took place on State Highway 13 at the junction with County Road 25 when Nielson’s car apparently crossed the center line and collided with Johnson’s vehicle.

The accident remains under investigation.
