Here are highlights in history for Dec. 7, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1993 — A Tribune article was based on the 90th anniversary of Albert Lea’s former city hall and fire station on North Broadway Avenue. (Century 21 – O’Byrne Realty is now in this building.)
1983 — The Albert Lea High School Tigers basketball team defeated the Fairmont High School Cardinals with a score of 52-51 in a game played at the Southwest Junior High School gymnasium.
1973 — A report in the Tribune said weather during November was milder than usual. The high temperature was 63 degrees above zero, average daily temperature was 35.1 degrees and there was a trace of snow on Nov. 14.
