Here are highlights in history for Dec. 9, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1985 — About 300 children and grandchildren of Naeve Hospital employees attended a Christmas party and had the opportunity to visit Santa Claus.
1975 — Banquet pot pies were on sale for 20 cents each at Albert Lea’s Piggly Wiggly store. Another bargain was a pound of margarine for 49 cents.
1965 — A group of 20 area clergymen held a meeting at the Chef Cafe. The purpose for this meeting was to figure out ways to oppose the Sunday opening of businesses in Albert Lea.
