Kathleen A. Wesley, 63, Waterville

Rural Waterville resident Kathleen A. Wesley, age 63, died at her home on Tuesday morning, Sept. 3, 2002.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at Good Counsel Chapel with the Rev. Richard Colletti officiating. Burial will be held later. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mankato Mortuary with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

Kathleen was born Nov. 3, 1938, in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County, to Matt L. and Rose K. (Dorn) Burg. She graduated from Nicollet High School, On June 22, 1959, she was united in marriage to Luke Wesley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. They resided in Mankato prior to their move to Alden, where they worked together at the Village Drug Store. They later moved to Austin. She worked at the Peppermill Restaurant in Austin and the Windmill Restaurant in Dexter. Kathy began crafting in 1985 and after moving to the Waterville area, she opened the Calico and Lace Lamp and Craft Shop in 1996.

She had been active with the Fireman’s Auxiliary in Alden, the Minnesota High School Rodeo, many crafters associations, and had participated in the St. Theodore’s choir group. She enjoyed music, crafting, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Luke Wesley of rural Waterville; a son, Michael Wesley and his wife Belinda of Dover; two daughters: Sue Prosser and her husband Al of rural Good Thunder, and Renae Ahrens and her husband Gary of Winona; five grandchildren: Wenonah, Lydia, Jack, Luke and Rose; a sister, Sister Carmen Burg, SSND, of Mankato; a brother, Jerry Burg and his wife Marce of St. Peter; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Burg of Judson, and Therese Nord of Waterville; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and a brother.
