Memorial services for Alvina H. Pierson, age 97, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at St. John’s Chapel. Chaplain Monrad Mandsager will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Alvina died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Alvina Henrietta Pierson was born April 14, 1905, to Chris and Sena (Hansen) Pierson in Graettinger, Iowa. She attended school in Graettinger and graduated from Graettinger High School. Alvina had been a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed music, loved animals, and especially enjoyed her family.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Anna of Rochester; brother-in-law, Kenneth of Rochester; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alvina was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
