Gary Rhodes to leave as Riverland president

Dr. Gary L. Rhodes, president of Riverland Community College, will leave to become president of a Richmond, Va. community college more than three times the size of Riverland, the school announced Monday.
Rhodes has been selected president of J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and will start his new job Oct. 15.
&uot;In the four years I have been president of Riverland Community College, the college has developed positive business relationships that have enhanced the opportunities for our students and increased the value of Riverland in the communities it serves,&uot; Rhodes said. &uot;Although I am leaving, I have great faith that Riverland’s faculty, staff, administration teams, and foundation board members will use their outstanding skills to assure continued growth for Riverland and the educational opportunities it offers students.&uot;
J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College, a three-campus institution in the Richmond area, serves about 10,500 students.
