Allan Lessman, age 52, of Sidney, Neb., died Tuesday morning, July 16, 2002, at his home in Sidney.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 19, in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with the Rev. Edgar Schambach officiating. Committal services will take place at the Lessman Ranch west of Sidney following the services. Cremation will follow with inurnment at a later date.
Memorials have been established to American Cancer Society, the Memorial Health Center Hospice, the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association, or the P.R.C.A.-Justin Cowboy Crisis Center.
Friends may call from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.

Allan Richard Lessman, the son of James and Edna (Fultz) Lessman, was born Nov. 16, 1949, at Fergus Falls, Minn. He moved with his family to Lamberton, Minn., as a child and graduated from Lamberton High School in 1967. He went to work on a harvest crew before being drafted and serving in Vietnam with the U.S. Army Green Beret Special Forces from 1968 to 1971. After his discharge he moved to Albert Lea where he attended Austin Junior College.
On Feb. 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to Glenda Allison at Glenville. They resided in Glenville before moving to Mc Allen, Texas, and then Winter Park, Colo., while he was involved in the commercial grain building business. They moved to Sidney in 1982 where he worked for Cabela’s as a distribution manager and later as facilities manager, involved in designing and building their retail stores.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Lessman of Sidney; one daughter, Joyelle and her husband Brad Kennedy of Sidney; two sons: Josh Lessman and John Lessman, both of Sidney; his mother, Edna Lessman of Walnut Grove, Minn.; one sister, Joan Iverson of Lamberton, Minn.; and one granddaughter, Hannah Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his father.
