Two more candidates for city councilor positions filed before the Tuesday filing deadline.

Mike (Mick) Kelly, Albert Lea Lake Management Committee member and representative of Save Our Lakes, filed for the Second Ward, challenging incumbent David B. McPherson and Destination: Albert Lea candidate Randy Erdman.

Roger E. Bok is seeking the Fourth Ward seat held by Ron Sorenson. Bok ran for the County Commissioner District 3 in 2000 and lost in the primary. Jeff Fjelstad, owner of Aragon Bar, has also already filed for the district.

The last-minute filings mean besides the mayoral race for the open seat, where five candidates will run, two city council wards will have a primary on Sept.10.

No primary took place for council seats in the 2000 election, when the three other council seats were up for election.
