SPRING GROVE – The Glenville-Emmons baseball team improved its record to 3-1 with a doubleheader sweep at Spring Grove.

SPRING GROVE – The Glenville-Emmons baseball team improved its record to 3-1 with a doubleheader sweep at Spring Grove. The Wolverines won 13-5 and 14-1.
Paul Kleven was 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs in the opener. Jake Hansen was 4-for-5 with one double, Chase Rayman 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Nick Flatness 2-for-4 with one RBI. Matt Learn and Jay Wadding also doubled. Mitch Meier singled and drove in two runs, as did Mike Yocom. Richie Mathis added a base hit.
Mathis pitched the first four innings for the win. He struck out four batters and walked one. Kleven went the final two innings on the mound, striking out two.
Wadding went 2-for-2, both doubles, and drove in four runs in game two. Meier was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Kleven 2-for-4 with two RBIs, Flatness 2-for-4. Also doubling were Yocom and Mathis. Learn singled.
Meier was the winning pitcher, striking out five and walking none in four innings. Learn threw the final inning in relief.
The Wolverines host Mabel-Canton in a doubleheader Thursday at 4:30.
