Precinct caucuses will be held on Tuesday, March 5 for all major political parties in Freeborn County. The events officially start the 2002 election process with the county, district and state conventions to follow.

The Republican caucus will be held at Albert Lea High School at 7 p.m.

DFL precinct caucuses will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 at Southwest Junior High School. The caucus will convene at 7 p.m. and the public is welcome. Call Art Anderson at 373-9445 for more information on the DFL caucus.

The Green Party of Minnesota will be having their caucuses for Senate District 27 at the Austin High School Staff Lounge from 7-8 p.m. March 5. The Green Party has been granted major party status in Minnesota because of their showing in the 2000 elections. Call 434-3516 with questions.
