Merrill Lee, 87, Faribault

Merrill Francis Lee, 87, formerly from Austin, died Jan. 2, 2012, in Faribault. A memorial service will be held Saturday at Oakland, Moscow Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Service will be at 11 a.m., with visitation with family and friends at 10 a.m.

Merrill was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Austin, to John and Gladys (James) Lee. He attended school in Austin and married Louise Kennedy on April 5, 1947, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.

After the passing of Louise, Merrill married Alice Brunmeier on Sept. 2, 1995.

He is preceded in death by first wife, Louise Kennedy Lee; parents, John and Gladys Lee; brother, Richard Wayne Lee of Austin.

He is survived by wife, Alice Brunmeier Lee; children: Richard (Helen) Lee of Farmington and Judith McGrogan of Savage; four grandchildren and spouses; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Joann Lee of Austin and Amanda Kennedy of Albert Lea; brother-in-law, Harris Brown; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Merrill served our country in World War II in the Army Air Force in England.
