Vern Strand, food and beverage manager of the post’s clubrooms, 142 N. Broadway Ave., said the exhibit will be open to the public from 1-5 p.m. Friday.

The post’s dining area will have World War II memorabilia and posters, plus military uniforms from that era. Strand added there will be videos during the afternoon of Pearl Harbor events and news clips about World War II, some narrated by Walter Cronkite.

One highlight for area families will be the scrapbooks based on Tribune news items and clippings from the World War II years. These clippings feature people who were then serving in the armed forces.

Strand also said the World War II Victory Album published in 1986 will be available for sale.

There will be snacks available during the afternoon on a freewill donation basis.
