ALDEN – Glenville-Emmons defeated Alden-Conger 65-46 in a matchup of area boys’ basketball teams Tuesday night.

ALDEN – Glenville-Emmons defeated Alden-Conger 65-46 in a matchup of area boys’ basketball teams Tuesday night. It was the season opener for both.

The visiting Wolverines led 16-8, 31-21 and 52-29 at the breaks.

Mitch Meier and Matt Webb came off the bench to spark the Wolverines with a a pair of three-point baskets. Paul Kleven was the top scorer with 21. Chase Rayman had 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jake Hansen contributed nine points in a reserve role. Nick Flatness had nine rebounds, Richie Mathis seven assists and three steals.

Also playing well for the Wolverines were Zach Adams and Maurice Chessmore.

Tyler Hintz scored 13 for Alden-Conger. Brett Penning netted 10.

The Wolverines host Elmore Academy Friday while the Knights entertain Medford.
