The Albert Lea Blades adult amateur hockey team avenged its lone loss of the season last weekend, defeating the Rochester Fossils 5-2 at the City Arena.
Harley Klimmek, David Nystrom, Marcus Ludtke, Don Savelkoul and Justin Bolinger scored the goals for Albert Lea.
Jason Fornwald and Josh Heilman split time at goalie, each allowing a goal.
&uot;It was an excellent game,&uot; said Fornwald, the Blades’ general manager. &uot;There was a lot of end to end action and our team really played well. We got them back for the earlier loss in the preseason league tournament. It was good to get the win.&uot;
Fornwald also wanted to thank all the fans who turned out for the game.
The Blades, 2-0 in league games and 4-1 overall, host the Cedar Falls Banana Slugs in a pair of games at the City Arena this weekend, at 8:15 p.m. Saturday and 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
