Stranger pays for teaching supplies

I was shopping at Walmart on Jan. 5 when a woman asked me if I was buying supplies for a classroom. When I told her yes, she opened up her wallet and handed me a $20 bill. When I said I couldn’t take the money, she said, “Take it! I know how limited teacher’s budgets are.”

I gave her a hug and thanked her, but I never got her name. That anonymous stranger made my day and I’ve shared the story with many others, making their day as well. To the lady shopping at Walmart: a big thank you from Adult Basic Education staff and families.
