Northwood-Kensett’s record setting season came to a close Tuesday after a 62-52 loss to 10th-ranked Newman Catholic in Mason City.

The Vikings (15-8) set a school record for victories in a season but couldn’t put away the Knights in the second round of the regional playoffs.

Midway through the third quarter Northwood-Kensett held a five-point lead but turned the ball over on its next eight consecutive possessions and Newman gained a 44-42 lead to start the fourth.

Kate Hartman led the Vikings with 28 points and Britney Low added 12.
