GLENVILLE – The stands were more crowded than usual for the Glenville-Emmons volleyball match Thursday night.

The Wolverines made it worth their while.

Glenville-Emmons bounced back from a Tuesday night loss at Lyle/Austin Pacelli, sweeping Southland 3-0 on parents nights. The Wolverines won 15-11, 15-5, 15-6.

&uot;The girls have been played well lately,&uot; said Wolverines coach Craig Rayman. &uot;I hope we continue to play well.&uot;

The Wolverines served 70-for-79 against Southland, with six aces.

Megan Avery led at the net with 17 kills and two tip kills. She was 13-for-15 serving. Jill Yost was 16-for-17 at the line and, according to Coach Rayman, had a strong night on serve receive.

Other players’ statistics: Jill Delger, 9-for-10 serving, one ace, one kill, one block; Alisa Rayman, 12-for-13 serving, six kills, three tips; Taryn Kaasa, one kill; Heidi Hanson, one kill, 3-for-3 serving; Lauren Bremer, one kill; Jenna Brackey, 3-for-5 serving, 15 assists, one block; Katie Brackey, 13-for-14 serving, two aces, 15 assists.

The Wolverines, 9-6, play Saturday in the LeRoy-Ostrander Invitational.
