Local Dairy Promotion meeting scheduled for Tuesday

The Blue Earth, Faribault, Freeborn, Martin, Steele, Waseca and Watonwan County American Dairy Association will meet at the District 19 gathering of Midwest Daiy Association at 11:30 am. Tuesday at the Willows in New Richland. All dairy producers are invited to the dinner and. information session, which is designed to help explain how dairy promotion and research programs are being carried out locally, statewide, regionally and nationally.
Producers planning to attend the meeting can RSVP by calling 1-866-678-7080 and leaving their name, county and number attending.
During the meeting, me district director for the Minnesota Division of Midwest Dairy Association will provide a report and answer questions about the promotion program, which is funded by dairy producers through a $.15 per hundredweight assessment on the milk they sell.
Current programs of Midwest Dairy Association include partnerships with foodservice companies like Domino’s and McDonald’s, innovation efforts in concert with dairy companies and organizations, issues and crisis management, and consumer and product research.
Midwest Dairy Association also helps to implement Fuel Up to Play 60, a national partnership between the dairy checkoff and the National Football League focused on fighting childhood obesity through healthy eating and physical activity.
