LAKE MILLS, Iowa – It figured to be one of the biggest battles in the state.
It turned out to be one of the biggest blowouts in the history of the series.
Northwood-Kensett ran away with what was expected to be a matchup of high school football powerhouses, shutting out arch-rival Lake Mills 39-0 at Lake Mills Friday night.
The Vikings won despite being outgained 312-149 in total yards and taking 80 penalty yards to the Bulldogs’ 5.
Brandon Weisert started the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Nathan Loberg, who led the Vikings with 86 yards in 17 carries, scored the next two touchdowns. After a Trevor Madsen touchdown toss to Josh Reindl, Joe Fierova scored on a 10-yard run and a 43-yard interception return.
