She just wanted some questions answered.

&uot;This was kind of the last experimental meet where we try to find out where kids need to be for the conference and section meets,&uot; said Wayne. &uot;We answered a few questions, but raised a few others.&uot;

The biggest question remained with the relays, a traditional strength for the Tigers but an area they’ve been inconsistent this spring.

The Tigers won the 4×200 with Amy Ravenhorst, Sara Kammerer, Beth Kolling and Emily Bartusek, but their next best finish was third by the 4×100 team of Angie Olsen, Jasey Porter, Ravenhorst and Kolling.

The answers were mostly things Wayne already knew, like Bartusek’s consistency, the progress of the hurdlers and the surprisingly strong performance of distance runner Katie Stenseth.

Bartusek continued to shine in the sprints, winning the 200 and 400. Anne Larson was first in the high jump.

Steph Overgaard was second in the 100 hurdles while Angie Schuhmacher took second in the 800. Stenseth placed second in the 1600 and third in the 800. Karissa Ladlie was third in the 3200, Ashley Olson third in the triple jump.

Other Albert Lea places: Jane Skrlin, fourth, 3200; Ravenhorst, fourth, high jump; Overgaard, fourth, long jump and fifth, 300 hurdles; Sarah Frydenlund, fifth, 100 hurdles; Porter, fifth, 100; Olsen, fifth, pole vault; Larson, fifth, long jump.
