Tom Allen, of Watertower Demolition Co. in Waterloo, Iowa, cuts through the main pipe of the water tower on the roof of the Lou-Rich plant on Front Street in Albert Lea Tuesday. After cutting the bowl into pieces, Allen will throw the pieces down the pipe and take them out onto the roof. From there he will remove the scrap metal from the roof. He and his wife Judy expect the project, which is to completely disassemble the tower, to take about two weeks, weather permitting.
