Jason Cummings, left, LaVerne Drache, Dean Naatz, Jason Hedensten and Rob Redman work on the inside of the Myre-Big Island State Park office building Tuesday. The Joseph Co. in Austin is the general contractor for the $300,000 job with various other local sub-contractors doing work as well. Begun in mid-January, the project is expected to be completed May 11. Park Manager Al Henderson said the new space will allow for the expected increased traffic after the Blazing Star Trail comes through, and will hopefully allow for more interpretive exhibits for future visitors.
