Permits issued for Nelson projects

Nelson’s Partnership has been issued three separate building permits with a total valuation of $1,602,000 for a construction project at the corner of Clark Street and Bridge Avenue, according to the latest report from the city of Albert Lea Inspection Department.

Nelson’s Partnership has been issued three separate building permits with a total valuation of $1,602,000 for a construction project at the corner of Clark Street and Bridge Avenue, according to the latest report from the city of Albert Lea Inspection Department. This location is the site of the former Boyd and Jack’s SuperValu, and later Nelson’s County Market.

The first permit with a valuation of $910,250 is listed for a convenience store, fast food store, canopy and tanks at 116-122 Bridge Avenue.

The second Nelson permit with a valuation of $501,750 is for the construction of a new strip center or mini-mall at 132-142 Bridge Avenue.

The third building permit is for a 30 foot by 52 foot car wash at 112 Bridge Avenue, with a valuation of $190,000.

There were 56 building permits with a total valuation of $2,953,671 issued in November, according to the report. The total valuation for permits issued during the first 11 months of 1999 is $47,355,936.

At the end of November 1998, the report shows a total of $15,804,803 for the permits issued.

Grace Lutheran Church, 918 Garfield Ave., was issued a permit with a valuation of $488,696 for the construction of an elevator access addition.

A permit with a valuation of $60,000 was issued to Trail’s Travel Center, 2700 E. Main St., for a 20 foot by 36 foot storage addition.

Permits for three new single-family residential units with a total valuation of $479,000 were issued during November. This increases the total for new living units to 29 for the year, which is one more than the total reported at the end of November 1998.

Roofing permits issued totaled 30 for November, according to the report from the city’s Inspection Department.
