Carole Yvonne Rodberg, 75, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Lake Mills Care Center.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Lake Mills, Iowa.
Carole Yvonne Rodberg was born on Feb. 8, 1935, in Wells, the daughter of Fred Sr. and Marguerite (Campbell) Lackey.
She graduated “Class of 1953” from Mason City High School and then attended La James Beauty College in Mason City, Iowa.
Carole was united in marriage to Dale Rodberg on Aug. 4, 1962. She was employed by Winnebago Industries in Forest City for 15 years. Carole loved her family, and will be remembered for both her tough side (her disciplining) and her soft side (her sense of humor and her laugh). She enjoyed gardening and canning, and made many beautiful quilts.
Survivors include her children: Cindy (Bruce) Olson of Pine City, Russ Rodberg of Twin Lakes, Julie (Dave) Karjalahti of Savage, Jodie (Travis) Stinehart of Lake Mills and Jim Rodberg of Scarville, Iowa; eight grandchildren: Brittney, Aubrey, Sarah, Christina, Robert, Tony, Kelly, and Dana; two great-grandchildren of GG’s: Cayli and Austin; two brothers: Floyd Lackey of Wells and David Prestholt of Twin Lakes; a sister, Lynda Vermedahl of Twin Lakes; an aunt, Betty Jones of Albert Lea; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: father, Fred Lackey, Sr. and mother, Marguerite Prestholt “Granny”; husband, Dale; a son, Jamie in infancy; two brothers: Fred Lackey and Richard Prestholt; grandson, Nicholas Olson; a brother-in-law, Roger Vermedahl; and a sister-in-law, Millie Lackey.
