Memorial services for Sandra May Christopherson, 68, of Albert Lea will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Joyce Shaman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Sandy died Monday, April 19, 2010, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Sandra May Christopherson was born on Sept. 12, 1941, to Bill and Janice Holdorf in Redfield, S.D. Sandy lived on the family farm near Brentford, S.D., attended country school and graduated from Brentford High School in 1960. Sandy graduated from Dakota State College in Madison, S.D., with honors in 1964. On Aug. 1, 1964, she was united in marriage to Douglas Christopherson. Sandy taught school in Pipestone, Alden and Albert Lea throughout her career. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for 40 years. Sandy enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, traveling and especially taking care of her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas; children: Allan and wife Tina Christopherson of St. Michael and Lisa and husband Jim Newton of Madison Lake; grandchildren: Colton Christopherson and Mikael and Ethan Newton; mother, Janice and husband Gideon Kaul of Hosmer, S.D.; sister, Nancy, and husband Larry Jacobs of Howard Lake; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Bill Holdorf, and granddaughter, Teagan Christopherson.
