Louise Butler, 92

Louise M. Butler, 92 of rural Austin, passed away Saturday evening, April 17, 2010, at the Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie. She was born March 4, 1918, in Austin and graduated Austin High School, a few years later she married Robert C. Butler on May 21, 1941, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. Louise raised her family on the farm and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newry Township. She was active in United Cerebral Palsy and also founded the Mower County United Cerebral Palsy Association, was a member of the altar society and a 4-H leader for many years. Louise loved bingo, trips to the casinos, spending her summers on Cass Lake and her winters in Bradenton, Fla.
Her husband Robert passed away on April 22, 2002.
Survivors include five sons: John (Jeanie) Butler of Blooming Prairie, James (Linda) Butler of Austin, Robert M. (Barbara) Butler of River Falls, Wis., Edward (Tina) Butler of Rochester and David Butler of Adams; three daughters: Patricia (Phillip) Splett of Stanchfield, Rosemary Kephart of Amery, Wis., and Susanne (Brian) Bowman of Blooming Prairie; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, four sisters and two infant sons.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Newry Township, Freeborn County, with Father Swamy officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday. Interment is in St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Fund.
