Memorial services for Gary Allen Stevens, 55, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
Gary died Aug. 9, 2009, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Gary Allen Stevens was born on Dec. 18, 1953, to Leonard and Mary (Olson) Stevens in Albert Lea. He grew up in Albert Lea and attended Albert Lea School where he enjoyed playing hockey. After school, Gary was employed by American Family Insurance. He became the regional sales manager based out of Fargo, N.D. Later, Gary moved to Salem, Ore., where he was employed as the sales manager at Jadent Inc. for 18 years. In 2005 he returned to the Albert Lea area for health reasons. Gary enjoyed playing pool, bicycling and spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his father, Leonard, and special companion Justine VanRyswyk of Albert Lea; son, Jamie (Jessica) Stevens of Fargo, N.D.; grandsons: Skyler and Braden Stevens of Fargo, N.D.; sister, Judy Stevens; brother, John (Mary) Stevens, all of Albert Lea; many extended relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his mother, Mary.
