Rosa Gonzales, 65

The funeral service for Rosa O. Gonzales of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. James Berning will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before service at the church. Interment will be in the St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery.
Rosa died on Sunday, July 26, 2009, at her son’s home in Albert Lea. She was 65 years old.
Rosa was born in San Marcos, Texas, on July 7, 1944, the daughter of Willie and Ysabel Olivo. Rosa has lived in Albert Lea for the past 32 years. She graduated from the Riverland Community College in Albert Lea. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. She was married to James Gonzales.
Rosa enjoyed reading, cooking and listening to music. Her greatest love was her time spent with her children and grandchildren and was very devoted to her faith.
Rosa is survived by her mother, Ysabel Cervantes of Blooming Prairie; children: Jessee (Rebecca) Gonzales of Albert Lea, Roberto Gonzales of Mankato, Maria Gonzales and special friend Steve Pruizner of Albert Lea, Anita Gonzales of Albert Lea, Willie Gonzales of Albert Lea, Victoria Gonzales and special friend Brad DeBoer of Hollandale, and James Gonzales of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Eric, Kelly, Alyssia, Brian, Anna Marie, Angel, Alex, Ramiro, Santana, Rio, Gage, Rickey (Rocket) Jr., Journey, Todd Jr., Jaime, Gabriel and Ashley; great-grandchildren: Mia, Tiana, Aidan, Nyannah, Yvara (YaYa) and Dalton; brothers: Paul Olivo, Joe Olivo, David Olivo, Willie Olivo; and sisters: Mary Gonzales, Vicki Olivo, Gloria Alphs and Kathy Martinez.
Rosa was preceded in death by her father, Willie Olivo Sr.; sister, Carmel and husband George Jahnke; special friends: Pauline Nielson and Rick Kinney Sr.; infant child Jim; and step dad, Angel Cervantes.
