Ethel Hansen, 74

Funeral services for Ethel Mae Hansen, 74, of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ethel died Tuesday June 30, 2009, at Albert Lea Medical Center.
Ethel Mae Hansen was born on Nov. 24, 1934, to Vance and Gladys (Tuberg) Olson in Lincoln Township in Blue Earth County. She graduated from Amboy High School, Rasmusson College and later Riverland Technical College. She was united in marriage to Duane Nolden on Oct. 2, 1954, in Vernon Center. Later Ethel married Dallas Hansen on April 7, 1960, in South Dakota. She had worked as a secretary at Hubbard Mills, Telex, Land O’Lakes and retired from Desktop Media in 1999. Ethel was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and was the organist there for many years. She loved music and enjoyed playing piano/organ and singing in harmony. Ethel also had many hobbies and pastimes, reading, embroidery, crocheting, sewing, collecting teapots and studying genealogy. She also enjoyed traveling, especially flying.
Survivors include her children: Terry and his wife Peggy Nolden of Bemidji, Pam and her husband, Randy Giebel of Albert Lea, Carole and her husband Paul Brill of Vergas, Mike and his wife Kris Hansen of Albertville and Sheila Hansen of Montevideo; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Duane and Dallas; brother, Robert V. Olson; sister, Marilyn J. Olson and grandson, John V. Nolden.
Memorials are preferred to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
