Joldine Yocum

Joldine M. Yocum, 74, of Owatonna, died Monday, June 1, 2009, at Homestead Hospice House after fighting cancer for over three years.
She was born Nov. 18, 1934, in Manson, Iowa, the daughter of Milton and Sterlene (Ogen) Thomas. Joldine spent many years in Albany, N.Y., and Riverside, Calif. before moving to Albert Lea where she taught art for adult education and the Paint A Bit Studio. She then moved to Owatonna and taught art in a private studio. When not painting she loved to garden, cook, and volunteer for the fall bazaar at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon (and Joe) Holland of Prior Lake, two grandsons Steven and Ryan, and longtime companion Ray Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son James, brother Terry, and sister Jeanne.
Mass for Joldine will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
