Maynard died Monday, June 1, 2009.
Maynard Arthur Johnson was born on April 2, 1928, in Blue Earth County, to William and Meriam Johnson. At one time there was an article from the Mankato newspaper that stated the Johnson family had the most children in the county with nine members under the age of 7 years. Maynard served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and was honorably discharged from active duty in 1952. After military service he worked for a short time at Hormel, then moved to Albert Lea where he delivered milk for the Albert Lea Creamery. After the creamery, he worked until retirement at Wilson’s in the battery shop. Maynard had a small hobby farm that was his pride and joy where he had Belgium horses that he enjoyed spending time with.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Marilyn Johnson of Albert Lea; many nieces and nephews.
Maynard was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers Ronald and Donald; sisters, Sadie, Doris, Betty, and three sisters in infancy.
Maynard will be sadly missed, but now his memory will always come back to him in the great horse barn in the sky.
