The funeral service for Timothy (Jake) Darrel Jacobsen of Hayward will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hayward Lutheran Church. The Rev. John R. Malm will officiate. Interment will be in West Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea, and one hour before the service at the church.
Tim died suddenly on Sunday, May 17, 2009, at his home. He was 40 years old.
Tim was born May 19, 1968, in Albert Lea, to Darrel Jesse and Stephanie M. (Johnson) Jacobsen. He grew up near Freeborn and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1987. Tim also was an Albert Lea area resident. He was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church and confirmed at West Freeborn Lutheran Church. Tim drove truck for Old Reliable Transportation, Styer Company and Byron Trucking. Tim enjoyed being a mechanic, snowmobiling, motorcycling, doing home remodeling, small engine repair and farming for his uncle Curt. Tim was a generous and giving person. He loved helping others.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Heather Jacobsen and her fiancé Kyle Krenske of Faribaulta; grandmother: Evangeline Jacobsen of Albert Lea; mother and stepfather: Stephanie and Lou Larson of Hayward; brother, Thomas A. Jacobsen and his wife, Val, and their children, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Kennedy of Glenville; brother, Travis J. Jacobsen and his wife, Michelle, and their children, Dillon, Gage and Cam of Glenville; stepsister: Kim Woitas and her husband, Scott, of Hayward and their children, Brie Tubbs and her husband Matt of Minneapolis and Brooke Woitas of Mankato; stepbrother: Mike Larson and his wife, Vickie, and their children, Haley and Culley; brothers-in-life: Tim Sailor and Darrin Parker; friend: Nicky Johnson and her daughter Ahnika of Albert Lea; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, Darrel Jacobsen; grandparents: Jesse Jacobsen and Art and Marquerite Johnson; uncle David Jacobsen; and brother-in-life: Colby Sailor.
