Jeanne Ulve, 81

Funeral services for Jeanne Lorraine Ulve, 81, of Albert Lea, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.  
Jeanne died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
Jeanne Lorraine Ulve was born on June 29, 1927, to Alfred and Mina (Gunderson) Severson in Manchester. She was a lifetime resident of Freeborn County graduating from Albert Lea High School in 1945. On May 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dick Ulve at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Jeanne was very active at First Lutheran Church, referring to it as her second home. Through the years she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Bible School, served with the Church Women and she was a charter member of Circle 21. She was proud to be employed for 18 years as a department head at Herberger’s in Albert Lea. Jeanne enjoyed music, golf, bowling, swimming, riding bike, reading and especially attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting and school events. Jeanne always loved to stay active and have coffee with the “Burr Oak Gang.” Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Dick; children: Brian Ulve, of Rifle, Colo., Janet Ulve of Inver Grove Heights, Reid and wife Sherry Ulve of Albert Lea and Carolyn and husband Kevin Johnson of Rochester; grandchildren: Todd and wife Julie Ulve, Ryan Ulve, Emily Ulve, Joshua Johnson, and Taryn Johnson; great-grandsons: Alex Ulve and Blake Ulve; sisters: Agnes Dolmetsch and Ruby Fredrickson, both of Albert Lea; sister and brothers-in-law: Marjorie and Bill Schaffer of Austin and Keith Ulve of Albert Lea; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Hannah Burtness, Mildred Foster, Alda Otterstrom and Helen Paulson; brothers: John and Oscar Severson; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
