Ruby Olson, 86

Funeral services for Ruby Grace Olson, 86, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Mansfield Lutheran Church. The Rev. Don Rose will officiate. Interment will be at Schneider Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ruby died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea.
Ruby Grace Olson was born on June 5, 1922, to John and Mary (Schmidt) Doppelhammer in Nunda Township. Ruby grew up in Nunda Township and was a member of the Bear Lake Lutheran Church. On June 12, 1940, she was united in marriage to Wilford Olson at the Bear Lake Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Mansfield Township, where they farmed and Ruby was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mansfield Lutheran Church all her married life. After retiring from farming the couple moved to Albert Lea, Emmons and then Good Samaritan Home. Ruby enjoyed gardening and her flowers, embroidery and needlework.
Survivors include her children: David (Judy) Olson of Riverton, Wyo., Elaine (Douglas) Nelson of Emmons, Daryl Olson of Faribault, Kathryn (Ron) Rudebeck of Waverly, Iowa, and Bryan (Beth) Olson of North Mankato; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilford; brothers: Vern, Art, Floyd, and Harry; and one grandson in infancy.
