Funeral services for Lloyd Reno Jorgenson, 87, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville with military honors accorded by area veterans organizations. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Lloyd died Monday, March 2, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Lloyd Reno Jorgenson was born on Nov. 20, 1921, to Chester and Rena (Rasmussen) Jorgenson in Blooming Prairie. He grew up and went to school in Albert Lea. Lloyd served in the United States Army Air Force as a Tech Sgt. during World War II. He was united in marriage to Margie Williamson in March of 1943 in Great Falls, Mont. Lloyd worked as the Assistant Manager of Sears. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the VFW, American Legion and Eagles Club. Lloyd enjoyed dancing at the Eagles, golfing, bowling in the “Old Kids League” and woodworking.
Survivors include his sons: Lloyd L. Jorgenson of Mankato, and Rick A. (Gloria) Jorgenson of Alden; grandchildren: Traci (Bill) Toulouse of Marshall, Erick (Amanda) Jorgenson of Rochester, and Mindy (J.D.) Carlson of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren: Courtney and Anthony Toulouse, and Dylan and Drew Carlson; sisters: Helen (Dean) Allen, and Dorothy (George) Boettcher; half-brother, Chester Jorgenson; sister-in-laws: Irene Jorgenson, Arlene Williamson, Joanne Williamson, and Dee Williamson; special friend, Alice Thompson.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie; brothers: Bernard, Gene, and Howard Jorgenson; brothers-in-law: Kenny, George, Harold (Hap) and Bernard Williamson.
