Cornelia Jacoba Crum Ravenhorst
“Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord; and our heart is restless until it rests in Thee” — St. Augustine.
Our mom “Click” was placed in God’s arms on Feb. 19, 2009. Earthly pain and discouragement have been replaced with perfect love, perfect peace and extraordinary joy.
“Click” was born to Henry and Cornelia Crum on Oct. 20, 1922 in Ogilvie. The Crum family moved to Hollandale in 1936. She met and married Arent John Henry Ravenhorst on May 10, 1946. As a farmer’s wife, our Mom knew the land as well as our Dad. She could run a tractor, drive a truck and during harvest she was in charge of the potato warehouse. She loved to sit and listen to the hymns of the church.
“Click” is survived by her three children, Jerry Ravenhorst and his fiancée Christina Reynolds of Hollandale, Carl Ravenhorst of Avoca, Ark., and Lacinda (Ravenhorst) Brace and her husband Ronald of Deltona, Fla.; grandchildren, John Brace and his wife Wendy, their children, Samuel and Charlotte of Texas City, Texas, and Gregory Brace and his wife Karen of Dumfries, Va.; sisters, Helen Goematt of Belmond, Iowa, and Hermina Drenth of Kentwood, Mich.; brother, John Crum of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hank, her parents and her sister Johanna Lewis.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations be made to the Hollandale Christian School or Habitat for Humanity.
