Edna Christianson

Edna Elizabeth Christianson, 91, of Oakland, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
She was born Aug. 24, 1917, in Moscow, Minn., to Uri and Ida (Arett) Young.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Edna was married to Earl C. Christianson on Dec. 15, 1937, at the St. Olaf Parsonage in Austin. She had been employed by J.C. Penney, Land O’Lakes and the Oriental Express in Austin. Edna was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, where she had been active with WELCA and circle in earlier years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl C. Christianson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ron Barnett Officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church.
Organist will be Neal Erickson. Music will be by Cindi Christianson, Brian and Nicole Christianson.
Honorary Bearer will be Ethan Severtson.
Casket Bearers will be Michael Severtson, Mark Severtson, Scott Wangen, Chad Wangen, Jeremy Wangen, Brian Christianson
Edna is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Elna Mae E. and Roger Severtson, Oakland, Donna L. and Larry Greeley, Oakland; son and daughter-in-law; Keith E. and Cindi Christianson, Oakland; six grandsons; Michael (Cindy) Severtson, Mark (Amber) Severtson, Scott (Sue) Wangen, Chad (Tisha) Wangen, Jeremy (Abby) Wangen, Brian (Nicole) Christianson; nine great grandchildren: Ethan and Anna Severtson, Ty Severtson, Taylor Johnson, Cody Huston, Alison and Madalyn Wangen and Miranda and Paige Wangen; brother and sister-in-law, Myron and Betty Young, Oakland; and nieces and nephews.
