Belle Carlson

The funeral service for Belle (Eva) Carlson of Albert Lea will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Home Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea and one hour before service at the chapel.
Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.
Belle died on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at St. John’s Lutheran Home, Albert Lea. She was 79 years old.
Belle was born in Hardshell, Ky., on March 16, 1929, the daughter of Marcus and Emma (Russell) Campbell. She attended school in a one-room school house in Breathitt, Ky. Belle was married to Alvin Carlson on Jan. 29, 1950, in Algona, Ind.
She lived in Chicago, Ill., and Dayton, Ohio, before moving to Albert Lea in 1952.
Belle was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Belle worked at Banquet Foods in Wells, many restaurants in Albert Lea and enjoyed cooking, always trying out new recipes. She also enjoyed gardening, upholstering, sewing and most of all enjoyed any time she could spend with her family.
Belle is survived by her husband, Alvin Carlson of Albert Lea; six children: Terry Carlson of Winnebago, Larry (Judy) Carlson of Albert Lea, Mary (John) Penley of Albert Lea, Linda (Calvin) Beebe of Rochester, Marcus (Jane) Carlson of St. Peter and Kimberly (Wade) Seadlund of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Tanya Goette, Adam Schaefer, Ellie Olson, Celeste Lewis, Wade Steven, Blake Schaefer, Tammy Hall, Tiffany Carlson, Kacey Pagel, Leah Carlson, Lisa Carlson, Lucas Carlson and Paige Sealund; 16 great-grandchildren; brother: Alfred Campbell of Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Kentucky.
Belle was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and three brothers.
