Philip Klocek

Philip Clement Klocek passed away at his home on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008 at the age of 82. He was born Feb. 11, 1926 in Dunbar Township near Wells to Valentine and Anna (Yokiel) Klocek.
He served in World War II and was discharged April 14, 1947. He married Viola Giese at St. Casmir’s Church in Wells.
They farmed near New Richland before moving to the Ellendale area in 1957. He also worked for Wilson and Company in Albert Lea during winter months.
Philip enjoyed farming and taking care of his cattle and fishing and hunting with the family. He also enjoyed spending time with and teasing his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Viola; four children, Lawrence (Jean) Klocek, Marilyn Dobberstein (friend Bill Olinger), Lavern Klocek (Lori Haberman) all of Ellendale and Karol Carroll (Gordon) of Rochester; Tweleve grandchildren, Ann (Rodney) Hamilton, Scott Klocek, Brian (Angela) Dobberstein, Jeff Dobberstein, Michelle (Brian) Neve, Kristina Klocek, David Klocek, Katie Klocek, Keith Klocek, Kevin Klocek, Tony (Tammy) Carroll and Robert Carroll; and ten great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include brother, Raymond Klocek; in-laws Margaret Klocek, David and Margean Rosin; Leroy and Joyce Giese all from Wells and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters and one grandchild, Randy Dobberstein.
Reviewal will be at St. Aiden’s Catholic Church in Ellendale on Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. and one hour before the service at the church. Funeral Services will be held Monday at St. Aiden’s Catholic Church in Ellendale at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Geneva Cemetery, Geneva.
