Funeral services for Gary Leon Casebolt, age 78, of rural Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Church. The Rev. Gary Hanson will officiate. Gary died Dec. 25, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Home.
Gary Leon Casebolt was born on Jan. 25, 1930 to Ivan H. and Cleo M. (Anderson) Casebolt in Albert Lea. Gary graduated from Alden High School. On Jan. 7, 1951 Gary was united in marriage to Betty Jean Madson in Emmons. The couple made their home in rural Albert Lea where Gary worked as a crop and dairy farmer and a seed corn salesman until his retirement a couple of years ago. He was a member of the Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Church. Gary played saxophone and clarinet for many years in the Mansfield Band. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughters, Vicki (Jerry) Linde, Marla Casebolt and Gayle (Bradley) Baalson; grandchildren, Melanie Linde, Kiersten Baalson and Jacob Baalson; sister, Judy (Edward) Enderson; brother-in-law, Harris Madson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Cleo Casebolt; mother and father-in-law, Martin and Myrtle Madson; brother-in-law, Marlin Madson; and his grandparents.
