Both Lake Mills wrestlers who went to the Iowa state tournament advanced on Thursday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bulldogs sophomore Ben Irons pinned 126-pounder Kyle Pegorick, of Midland, in 51 seconds to advance to the quarterfinals. Irons today will face Tyler Shulista (43-1), of Alburnnet, Iowa, who pinned his opponent in 54 seconds.

Beal, at 145 pounds, was pinned by top-ranked Robert Walker in the first round in 1:27 but won a 6-4 decision over junior John Hageman, of Jackson Junction, Iowa, in the wrestlebacks.
