Ardean Sader

Ardean C. Sader, age 85, of Wells, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at her home in Wells. Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wells. The Rev. Meg Sander will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells with a VFW Auxiliary service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.
Ardean Caroline Sader was born Nov. 19, 1922, the daughter of William and Caroline (Hensche) Stern in Wells. She was baptized Dec. 10, 1922, in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wells by the Rev. William Ganschow. She was a lifelong resident of the Wells area. She taught Sunday school in her earlier years, after her confirmation on April 5, 1946. She attended country school, District No. 52 through the eighth grade. On Nov. 1, 1944, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Sader at a Navy Chapel in Key West, Fla. She was a homemaker and also worked at the Wells Hospital and Telex in Blue Earth and at the Sader Lumber Yard in Wells with her husband until their retirement in 1989. Ardean was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and also the American Legion and the VFW Auxiliaries. She enjoyed her home, family, listening to old time and gospel music, reading, writing letters, gardening, flowers, needlework, traveling with her husband, but especially enjoyed making crafts for her grandchildren, spending time with them and watching them grow.
She is survived by five sons: Jerald (wife Sandra) of Mankato, Dale of Wells, Steven (wife Isabel) of Holmen, Wis., Brian (wife Mary) of Good Thunder, and Scott (wife Tamara) of Rush City; 11 grandchildren: Chris Sader, Corey (Wendy) Sader, Shannon (Christopher) Volk, Angela (Keith) Aune, Jason (wife Krystal) Sader, Sarah (Barry) Schneider, Chad Sader, Melissa Sader, Karin Sader (Josh Ernst), Ashley (Peter) Umbreit, Tiffany (Andrew) Reinert; four great-granddaughters: Kala Sader, Isabelle Kuchar, Ava Aune, and Alana Volk; eight great-grandsons: Matthew Kuchar, triplets: Kolin, Dylan and Austen Sader, Jayden Sloan, Carter Ernst, Drew Sader, and Elias Aune; one sister-in-law: Ione Stern of Wells; along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 1996; one granddaughter and two grandsons in infancy; two brothers: Melvin and Willard Stern; and one sister-in-law: Marie.
