Pearl Engelsrud

Pearl Vivian Engelsrud, 85, of Mankato, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.
The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, with the Rev. Steve Kidder officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Pearl was born on July 16, 1923, in Nevis. She was the daughter of John and Selma (Olson) Moen. Pearl was a 1941 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She was united in marriage to Ernest Engelsrud on Feb. 11, 1944, in Albert Lea. Pearl was a homemaker for her family. She and Ernest lived in Mankato from 1946 until 1986. From then they resided in Naples, Fla., until they returned to Mankato in 2001. Pearl was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing bridge, bowling, time at their home on Lake Washington, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pearl is survived by her husband, Ernest of Mankato; two sons, Larry (Terry) Engelsrud of North Mankato and David Engelsrud of Bellingham, Wash.; one daughter, Barbara (Jim) Bennett of Owatonna; five grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Engelsrud, Aaron (Jennifer) Engelsrud, Kimberly (Barry) McRaith, Tracey (Jay) Lindholm, and Brian Bennett; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and William Lane.
