Glenn Long

Glenn L. Long, of Spring Lake Park, passed away on Aug. 30, 2008, at Ambassador Good Samaritan Center, New Hope. He was 73 years old. Graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea, are pending.
Glenn was born in Liberal, Kan., on July 25, 1935, the son of George C. and Ruth I. Long. He grew up in Minneapolis until the family moved to Albert Lea in 1947. Glenn attended Albert Lea schools until his graduation with the Class of 1953. He was very proud to be co-valedictorian of his class. Glenn then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country from 1954 through 1956. Following his discharge he enrolled at Mankato State College and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1960. He worked for Control Data Corp. in Minneapolis and California until his retirement.
Glenn is survived by sisters Bonnie Anderson (Norman), Albert Lea; Roberta Germanson (Howard), Brainerd; Nancy Berg (Bud), Landers, Calif.; brothers David (Elaine), Albert Lea; Dennis (special friend Mary Malherek), Blooming Prairie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Leo, and infant sister Mary Lou.
Glenn will be sadly missed but joyously remembered by his family and friends.
