Arvella Steele

Funeral services for Arvella Evelyn Steele, 92, of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at Concordia Pickerel Lake. The Rev. Wendy Anderson will officiate. Interment will be at Pickerel Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arvella died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Brian’s Elder Care.
Arvella Evelyn Steele was born on May 18, 1916, to George and Pauline (Stiehl) Baer in Albert Lea. She attended school through the 8th grade at District #56 in Freeborn County. She was united in marriage to Albert Steele on Nov. 14, 1934. Arvella was a life long member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake where she was active in the ladies aide. She also volunteered weekly at the Wintergreen Co-op. Arvella was a good mother and hard worker who enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, selling eggs.
Survivors include her children, Charles and Karen Steele, Arlen and Betty Steele and Joan and Ross Moyer; daughter-in-law, Marlys Steele; grandchildren, Douglas and Tonya Steele, Dennis and Jamie Steele, Diane and Joe Lindquist, Carrie and Jason Ackley, Jason and Tammy Steele, Dustin Steele, Darin Steele, Peggy Regan, Ricky and Lisa Moyer, Julie and Kim Svenningsen, Karen and Michael King, Denise and Alan Stricker, and Dareen Steele; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Burmester of San Diego, Calif.
Arvella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; sons, Gregory and Elroy; brother, Cleon and sister, Arlene.
Memorials preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake.
