Timothy Abrego

The memorial service for Timothy E. Abrego of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at St. Theodore Catholic Church. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 4 to 7 Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour before the service at the church. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Timmy died on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 62.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1945, in Albert Lea, the son of Celestino and Rosie (Lopez) Abrego. Timmy had attended Albert Lea Schools and then lived in several areas including Houston and Glen Rose, Texas. He returned to live in Albert Lea 33 years ago.
Timmy had been employed at Streater Inc. for many years before his failing health made it to difficult for him to continue working. He loved fishing and was always playing jokes. Socializing with family was what mattered most to him. He always made sure that no one ever left his home hungry.
Timmy will be greatly missed by his family, life partner Terry VanderWoude of Albert Lea; children: Mary Jane Abrego Palacios of Glen Rose, Texas, Timothy L. (Tammy) Abrego Jr. of Albert Lea, Dee Ann Abrego Torres of Houston, Texas, Maelynn Drenth of Austin, Cassandra Vanderwoude and fiancé Bill Oleson of Clarks Grove, Jeffery Lowen of St. Paul; 11 grandchildren: Jasmine, Chelsea, James, Fernando, Timothy III, Tianna, Davontae, Destiny, Deavion, Isaiah, and DaJuan; brothers and sisters: Tony Abrego of Albert Lea, Gloria (Anselmo) Fernandez of Texas, Emily Abrego of Albert Lea, Francis Genschel of Arlington, Texas, Johnny Abrego of St. Paul, David (Rosie) Abrego of Texas, Patrick (Judy) Abrego of Glenville, Rosie (Alfredo) Castillo of Texas; sisters-in-law Sandy Abrego of Albert Lea and Rosario Abrego of Texas; brother-in-law, Vincent Muniz of Omaha, Neb.; special friend, Belinda Garman of Albert Lea; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Moses, Sonny and Marion Abrego; sisters, Dora and Elizabeth; and several brothers and sisters in infancy; two grandchildren, Dakota Jade and DeShae Davis; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
