Arlyss Cleveland

Graveside services for Arlyss W. Cleveland, age 86, will be at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Paul Jones of Yarnell Community Presbyterian Church officiating.
Arlyss was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Albert Lea, to Leslie G. Cleveland and Hazel Gilbertson Cleveland. He was raised and attended schools there and later served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. Following his military service he returned to Minnesota for a brief time and later moved to California. He became a watch repairman which he had done for over 20 years while living in both Texas and California. He began working at the Yuma Proving Grounds where he was a scientific research photographer. After retiring he moved to Yarnell. Arlyss enjoyed wood carving and landscaping and spent a lot of time working around his home. He was preceded in death by his wife Paula on Oct. 28, 2003, and a sister Nadeane Caldwell in 2005 and parents Leslie in 1966 and Hazel in 1981. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home & Crematory in Arizona.
