Todd Schroeder

Todd Alan Schroeder, the son of Harvey and Dorothy (Refsell) Schroeder, was born Aug. 16, 1965, in Estherville, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008, at his home in Albert Lea at the age of 42.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Thursday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville, Iowa, with the Rev. Doug Burton officiating. Interment was in the Wallingford Lutheran Cemetery in Wallingford, Iowa.
Music at the service was “Amazing Grace,” “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.” Honorary casket bearers were Olivia and Skylar, Chris Beaver, Amanda Hallett, Mallory Reiter, Dillon Crowley, Megan Katula and Katie Katula.
Todd received his education in the Estherville schools. He then attended Jackson Vocational Technical Institute in Jackson where he graduated with a degree in telecommunications.
After graduating from college, Todd moved to the Minneapolis area where he was employed as a lineman for a communications firm. Later he went to work for another company in the Twin Cities area that specialized in fiber optics. Then Todd moved to Clarks Grove where he was employed as a mechanic. After several years, Todd moved to Albert Lea where he was employed as an apartment manager. Todd loved mechanical things. His hobbies included street rods, enduro racing, working on cars, hunting and snowmobiling. Another interest of Todd’s was helping area farmers and operating farm machinery. He especially enjoyed operating a combine.
Todd was a member of the Church of Nazarene.
Left to cherish Todd’s memory are his children, Olivia and Skylar; his parents, Harvey and Joanne Schroeder of Estherville; two sisters, Lorri Beaver and her husband Dick of Estherville, Susan Crowley and her husband Dan of LeMars, Iowa; step-sister Sue Katula and her husband Bob of Stillwater; grandmother Annie Schroeder of Estherville; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Additional survivors are Todd’s girlfriend, Norma Raymond and her son, Justice.
Preceding Todd in death were his mother; an infant sister, Amanda Ann; his paternal grandfather, Harry; maternal grandparents, Martin and Amanda; and his maternal step-grandparents.
