The bookstore gift of $1,000 funded the library’s purchase of multiple copies of Maud Hart Lovelace Award books and an increase in the reluctant reader book collection. The bookstore has also made this year $1,000 and $1,500 gifts to boost other parts of the library collection. All profits from the Fountain Lake Bookstore are used for support of the Albert Lea Public Library. The store is manned by volunteers Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon. To volunteer call Karol Held at 373-1627.
