Clayton Stoa

The memorial service for Clayton Orvin Stoa will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Moscow Lutheran Church, rural Austin. The Rev. Bob Berthold will officiate.
Interment will be in the Moscow Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church.
Clayton died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Austin Medical Center, Austin. He was 82 years old.
Clayton was born in Moscow Township, on July 23, 1927, the son of Oscar and Cora Stoa. He attended School District 120 Moscow. He had been a lifetime resident of the Moscow area. Clayton was married to Darlene VanderVoort on Feb. 25, 1949, in Albert Lea. He was an active member of the Moscow Lutheran Church. He was past president and served on the church council.
Clayton was a member of the Lutheran Brotherhood, AAL and Moscow 4-H. He enjoyed farming and was a Jacques Seed Dealer, Archer Oil Dealer and raised registered Hampshire Hogs with his brother, Mel. He loved his John Deere tractors.
Clayton enjoyed watching his son race and loved many outdoor sports. He worked hard cutting wood for heating the family home.
Clayton is survived by his five sons: Roger (Carla) Stoa of Austin, and their children, Amanda Stoa (Michael Tschida) Brian (Deborah) Stoa; James (JoAnne) Stoa of Whittier, Calif., and their children, Jeremy and Melanie Stoa, Jennifer and Joshua Riggs, Jonathon and Jennifer Stoa; Dean (Yvonne) Stoa of Rushford, and their children, Jamie Stoa, Paul Bartsh, Chad (Jessie) Bartsh; Charles (Holly) Stoa of Blue Earth, and their son Daniel (Kelli) Stoa; Kevin Stoa of Albert Lea; one daughter: Kristine (Lynn) Allas of Lansing, and their children, Andrew and Emily Allas; four great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; brother: Melvin Stoa; brother-in-law: Everett and Janice Vander Voort; many nieces and families.
Clayton was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Stoa; son, Brian John Stoa; parents, Oscar M. and Cora A. Stoa; brother-in-law, Lee J. Parrish; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stoa.
